PC4CHANGE

Building Computers. Creating Opportunities. Powering Change.

A student-led initiative bridging the digital divide through hands-on STEM education and community service

Our Mission

We teach students how to build custom PCs and use that knowledge to serve others by donating computers to underserved communities.

Education

Empower youth with valuable technical skills through hands-on computer building workshops

Community

Bridge the digital divide by providing custom-built computers to those without access

Leadership

Create opportunities for students to lead impactful community service projects

The Problem

Digital Divide

Over 14 million students in the U.S. lack access to reliable computers, creating an ever-widening opportunity gap

Limited STEM Opportunities

Schools often lack hands-on, project-based STEM programming that engages students in real-world applications

Lack of Student Leadership

Students rarely get opportunities to lead meaningful community impact projects that develop crucial leadership skills

Our Solution – PC4CHANGE

A student-led club where youth build custom computers from scratch and donate them to families and nonprofits in need.

Hands-on STEM Learning

Students gain technical skills by building custom PCs from components, understanding hardware, software, and troubleshooting

Teamwork & Leadership

Members collaborate in teams, develop project management skills, and take ownership of the entire build-to-donation process

Community Service

Each completed PC is donated to underserved students or nonprofits, creating immediate, tangible impact in the community

Year 2 – Pilot Program @ Providence Day School

15+

Student Members

Dedicated team of diverse students with varying technical backgrounds working together

150+

PC Builds

Our target custom computers assembled and prepared for donation to community partners

50+

Nonprofit Partners

Local organizations helping us identify recipients who will benefit most from technology access

Our second year includes regular club meetings, specialized workshops, community build days, and donation ceremonies celebrating the impact.

Our Model: BUILD. DONATE. SCALE.

Our sustainable model creates a cycle of learning, impact, and growth. Students develop technical and leadership skills while making a real difference in their communities.

Each phase builds upon the previous, creating a continuous pipeline of education, service, and expansion that multiplies our impact over time.

Our Impact Goals

1

Year 1

Our pilot program at Providence Day School, establishing our model and building community partnerships

2

Year 2

150+ PCs we want to donate as we expand to 5 additional schools across North Carolina, refining our replication model

3

Year 3

100+ students engaged across 20+ club chapters throughout the Southeast, creating a movement of tech-powered community service

With each computer potentially serving multiple users, our impact extends to hundreds of students gaining access to critical technology

How We Scale

1

Club-in-a-Box

Comprehensive toolkit with guides, templates, and resources for new chapters to launch quickly and effectively

2

Fundraising Support

Customizable GoFundMe campaigns and corporate partnership templates to secure hardware and financial backing

3

Digital Platform

Interactive website with impact tracker, resources, and storytelling to connect chapters and showcase outcomes

Our scalable model allows for rapid growth while maintaining quality and impact. Each new chapter adapts our core framework to their local needs and resources.
